What is Doluz?

It is the Mod Squad hooked up to your amp, blasting beets for teeny bopper feets.

What is Doluz?

It is Charlie's Angels cheering from the crowd, because Charlie isn't half as handsome as the men in this band.

What is Doluz?

It is Dirty Harry with a .44 Magnum to your head, because with music this good - you feel lucky, Punk!

Doluz features: the lead singing /guitar playing of Martin Thompson, the furious drumming of Jake Bageshaw, and the mysterious ways of the bassist known only as "Tiny".

Who are these men that have dared to capture the sound of 'Thunder in a Bottle'?

Martin Thompson is the bands Dean Moriarty. His soul is the story of a Kind of Blue Nirvana feeding Jane's Addiction with the Purple haze of Jimi Hendrix. His feet are the story of a childhood in Maine, an adolescence in North Carolina, and an adulthood on the road. His hands are the story of mad playing on the sax, mad strumming on the guitar and mad fists shaken at everything else.
"I'm mad but I'm not beaten" he said after his last day on the road with Beck. It was Thanksgiving and after a dispute with Beck about overcooked veal, he was on the street and disgusted with the bloated carcass of corporate rock.

And so was born Doluz.

Jake Bageshaw is the bands Tony Robbins. His drums have the power to wake the dead in all of us. He has played the drums at home and awoke the neighbors. He has played the drums in the SFSU Jazz band and awoken the crowd. He has played the drums in the Carlos Santana band and awoken the Supernatural and it has never gone back to rest. "I'm mad but not finished," he said on that fateful day when he met Tony Robbins. That one single encounter set him on the course to benefit mankind with his drumming ability.

And so many years later, was born Doluz.

"Tiny" is the bands Frodo Baggins. He was born in secrecy to live a life of mystery. Some say he hasn't spoken a word in over ten years, in protest over the first war in Iraq. Some say he lived in the trees for over a year in protest over logging practices. Some say the last words he ever spoke were, "I'm mad but I'm not crazy" just at the climax of the 'it's a small world' ride at Disneyland. He decided that his bass would do the speaking for him and that the world would have to listen.

And so many many years later, was born Doluz.

What is Doluz? It is the end of Starsky and Hutch episode after the villain has been caught, the streets are safe, the day is done, and all that is left is the last pint between friends and the close of night.
